Zcash Surges Past $1,500 on Institutional Demand and Upcoming Update
Zcash (ZEC) has reached its highest price in over 10 years, exceeding $1,500. This surge is attributed to a combination of factors, including the launch of Grayscale's Zcash ETF spot, Paradigm's large holdings of ZEC, and anticipation for the upcoming NU7 update.
The Grayscale ETF started trading on August 25th and has attracted significant institutional investment, surpassing $500 million in assets under management by mid-September. This increased demand has contributed to the price increase.
Additionally, Paradigm's cofounder Matt Huang revealed that the firm holds ZEC, describing it as a privacy-focused alternative to Bitcoin. While this revelation may have reinforced the narrative around Zcash, it is unclear whether it directly influenced the subsequent price increases.
