Zcash Targets November 5 for NU7 Mainnet Upgrade with Faster Blocks

Zcash developers have set their sights on November 5 for the NU7 mainnet upgrade, which will significantly speed up block processing times. Currently, Zcash blocks are processed every 75 seconds, but after the upgrade, this time frame will be reduced to just 25 seconds.

The update, scheduled to hit testnet on October 6, is expected to have limited impact on wallet users due to its non-invasive nature. However, infrastructure providers may need to make some adjustments.

One of the key changes introduced by NU7 is the reduction in target block spacing from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. This will enable faster processing times while maintaining the network's existing issuance structure.
