Zcash Users Warned: Move Funds from Legacy Pool Before November NU7 Upgrade

Zcash users are warned to move their funds from the legacy Sprout shielded pool before the November upgrade or risk losing access to them.

The NU7 upgrade, which is scheduled for Nov. 5, would stop accepting older transaction formats that allow users to spend Sprout funds in the pool.

Zcash Improvement Proposal-2003 proposes not burning these funds but instead leaving them unspendable after the upgrade, although there's a chance they could be restored later.

A Zcash co-founder and a user on the community forum have warned of this potential issue, urging holders to check their old wallets for Sprout ZEC before the upgrade.
