ZCSH Hits $500M AUM Amid Regulatory Uncertainty

The Grayscale Zcash Trust ETF, trading under the ticker ZCSH, has reached $500 million in assets under management (AUM) just two weeks after its launch on NYSE Arca. The milestone was achieved despite a regulatory overhang that had been weighing on the asset since 2023.

The fund's growth can be attributed to a combination of external inflows, totaling more than $70 million, and legacy assets carried over from its predecessor vehicle, which rebranded to an ETF structure this year. Notably, DCG International Investments, an indirect subsidiary of Digital Currency Group, contributed approximately $100 million by exchanging 85,705 ZEC through an authorized participant.

The SEC's decision to close its investigation into the Zcash Foundation in January 2026 without recommending enforcement action removed a significant regulatory overhang. However, the closure did not provide formal determination on whether ZEC is a security, leaving some uncertainty for the asset's classification.
