$ZEC Surges 200% as Market Sees Bitcoin-Like Potential
Zcash, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency, has experienced an impressive surge in recent weeks. The token's price has risen by approximately 200% in just one month, surpassing $1,500. This significant increase is attributed to strong funding inflows into Grayscale's Zcash ETF and interest from large investors.
The upcoming NU7 upgrade, which will reduce block times from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, has raised expectations regarding Zcash's technical infrastructure. Matt Huang, co-founder of Paradigm, has also announced that his company holds $ZEC, further accelerating the rise in price.
Crypto trader Ansem compared $ZEC's jump from around $300 to $1,500 to Bitcoin's rise from $1,000 to $20,000 in 2017. He believes that Zcash could gain strong momentum in 2026 and 2027 due to its current market structure resembling Bitcoin's position before its historic price surge.
Eli Ben-Sasson, co-founder and CEO of StarkWare, noted that concerns about Bitcoin becoming increasingly rigid are one of the factors supporting interest in Zcash. However, he emphasized his love for and value placed on Bitcoin.
