Zero-Knowledge Breakthrough Secures Cross-Chain Bridges
Researchers at Americanfortress have developed a zero-knowledge cryptographic framework called ZK-POSP that allows users to prove ownership relationships without exposing private recovery phrases or public transaction histories. This breakthrough makes bridge hacking economically unviable, according to Michal Pospieszalski, CEO of Americanfortress.
ZK-POSP can link one wallet's keys without revealing seed phrases and requires attackers to commit equivalent personal funds to exploit a bridge hack. The framework has been integrated into MetaMask, with the SDK generating automated proofs in three seconds for users.
Pospieszalski noted that ZK-POSP makes stealing from cross-chain bridges significantly harder, as attackers would need to initiate a legitimate transaction and commit an equal amount of their own capital. This makes exploiting the bridge economically unviable.
