ZeroHash Seeks Second Chance at Trust Bank Charter with OCC

Share

ZeroHash, an infrastructure company in the cryptocurrency space, has submitted a second application for a trust bank charter to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

This is not the first time ZeroHash has sought to obtain this type of license. The OCC initially granted ZeroHash a national bank charter in 2020, but it was revoked due to allegations of inadequate capitalization.

The company's latest application comes after recent changes to federal regulations that aim to ease access to traditional banking services for cryptocurrency firms.
