ZetaChain Abandons Its Blockchain, Migrates to Solana Amid Overwhelming Community Support

ZetaChain has announced its decision to shut down its own blockchain and migrate its AI application Anuma, as well as the ZETA token, to Solana. This move comes after governance proposal No. 68 passed with a staggering 99.4% support from voters.

The proposal was put to a vote on September 20, with a voter turnout of 58%, exceeding the required 40% quorum. The opposition and abstentions combined made up only 0.6% of the total votes cast.

ZetaChain cited the burden of maintaining its own blockchain as one of the reasons for the move. The network was built using the Cosmos SDK, which required coordinating updates with dozens of independent validators whenever security advisories and patches were issued.

The ZETA token will be converted on a 1:1 basis into a native Solana SPL token, retaining its existing total supply and ticker. However, ZETA tokens held on Ethereum and BNB Chain will not be included in the conversion.
