ZetaChain Abandons Its Own Blockchain, Migrates to Solana
ZetaChain has made the decision to shut down its own blockchain and migrate to Solana. The proposal, which was put to a vote by ZETA token holders, received support from an overwhelming 99.4% of participants.
The move is largely driven by the team's focus on Anuma, an artificial intelligence-related application that has gained significant traction with over 300,000 users and more than 1 million requests across 35 AI models. The team believes that its own blockchain is no longer necessary for further development and that Solana offers a more suitable ecosystem.
Another reason cited by the team is the need to constantly maintain a blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK, which requires monitoring updates and vulnerabilities and coordinating changes with dozens of independent validators. The proposal notes that AI-based tools are making it easier to discover vulnerabilities, which could become more frequent over time.
