ZetaChain has taken a significant step towards migrating its native ZETA token to Solana after achieving 99.4% support in a vote, surpassing the required 40% quorum.

The proposal would see ZETA become a native Solana SPL token through a one-for-one conversion without increasing total supply. The migration plan also involves shutting down ZetaChain's own Layer 1 and moving Anuma, its private multi-model AI application, to Solana alongside over 300,000 users.

ZetaChain's proposal specifically cites the maintenance burden inherited from Cosmos SDK and related components as a reason for leaving the L1. The project says running its own network no longer helps build private AI, presenting the operating cost and security work associated with maintaining a separate Cosmos-based network as part of its case for moving.
