Zondacrypto Boss Seeks Leniency over Alleged Political Ties

Przemysław Kral, the head of collapsed cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto, has been charged with participating in an alleged large-scale fraud. He is cooperating with Polish prosecutors and seeking a reduced sentence in exchange for testimony that could reveal details about the exchange's funding of right-wing politicians.

The investigation estimates Zondacrypto customers lost at least 2.4 billion Polish zlotys ($650 million), with only part of customer funds used to buy crypto, while the rest was transferred to private accounts controlled by Zondacrypto managers.

Kral has been negotiating cooperation terms for six months and held informal meetings with prosecutors in Poland, Sicily, and Persian Gulf countries. He denies accusations of misappropriating funds, blaming a missing wallet's private keys on his predecessor Sylwester Suszek.
