Zondacrypto Probe: Polish Prosecutors Charge Individual with $2.1 Million Misappropriation

Share

Polish prosecutors have filed formal charges against Romana Ż., accusing them of participating in an organized criminal group and misappropriating approximately 7.8 million zlotys (about $2.1 million) from user funds at the troubled crypto exchange Zondacrypto.

The charges follow earlier arrests in the Zondacrypto probe, where multiple suspects were ordered held in custody for up to three months on allegations including money laundering and misappropriation of company assets.

Prosecutors also requested pretrial detention for Romana Ż., citing concerns that they could flee or disrupt the investigation.

The case focuses on alleged unauthorized computer-record changes and interference with how Zondacrypto processed and transmitted exchange data, building on earlier estimates that total losses connected to the exchange exceed 350 million zlotys.
