$186M Financing Secured for Yinson Renewables' NZ Wind Farm
Yinson Renewables has secured $186 million in project financing for its Mt Cass Wind Farm on New Zealand's South Island. The company, led by CEO Vegard Urnes, aims to generate enough electricity to power about 40,000 homes and support the country's decarbonisation efforts.
The wind farm is expected to reach commercial operations in 2028. MUFG Bank led the financing package alongside HSBC and Bank of New Zealand, with all three acting as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners.
The deal includes senior construction and term loan facilities, a debt service reserve facility, and instrument facilities. MUFG also served as sole structuring coordinator, facility agent, and security trustee, while HSBC acted as the account bank.
