Abazović's Record on Living Standards Criticized by Montenegrin MP

MP Branka Marković criticized former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović for his handling of living standards while in office. She stated that he 'decided to deal with living standards only after he became a populist oppositionist, due to petty political points.'

Marković pointed out that during Abazović's tenure as Prime Minister, prices soared due to the war in Ukraine, increasing by 17% at the end of 2022. Despite this, Abazović failed to implement effective measures to mitigate price increases.

In fact, his results show that he did not increase the minimum wage by a single euro, zero chapters were closed, and record inflation was seen under his leadership. Marković added that Abazović first spread panic about not being able to pay pensions at all, but then suddenly claimed it was possible to increase the pension by 40 euros to 450 euros without providing a revenue side.

Marković also stated that the current Prime Minister Milojko Spajić increased salaries and pensions during his term in office. She mentioned that Abazović's actions were motivated by party calculations and a lack of feeling for public sector employees, which is different from Spajić's approach.
