Ackman Warns Fed: AI May Be Rewriting Inflation Playbook
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman believes that the Federal Reserve's decision to hike interest rates may have been a mistake due to the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Ackman, who is the founder of Pershing Square, made his comments in an X post where he questioned whether traditional monetary policy tools still apply in the era of artificial intelligence.
The investor argued that the old models which suggested that rate hikes reduce inflation by cooling demand may no longer be relevant. He theorized that higher rates could actually lead to worse inflation as higher interest costs become 'embedded in everything.'
