ADB Sees Prolonged Inflationary Pressure in Asia Through 2027
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is forecasting prolonged inflationary pressure in developing Asia-Pacific countries through 2027.
This forecast is driven by wars in Europe and the Middle East, as well as a strong El Niño phenomenon.
The ADB expects inflation to reach 4.2% in 2026 and 3.5% in 2027, both of which exceed the 3% level recorded in 2025.
Economic growth is also expected to slow to 5% in 2026 from 5.5% in 2025.
