Air Canada Expands Basic Fare Model to Premium Cabins

Air Canada has expanded its basic fare model to premium cabins by introducing Premium Economy Basic and Business Class Basic fares. These new options come with several restrictions similar to those found in Economy Basic tickets, but still offer some benefits of their respective classes.

Premium Economy Basic passengers will receive one complimentary checked bag, a carry-on allowance, priority boarding, priority baggage handling, and onboard meals, but will not have access to lounge services. Business Class Basic passengers can use Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounges, although admission to the airline's Signature Suites is excluded.

The new fares are available for travel to specific regions, including the Caribbean, Latin America, Mexico, and South America, as well as transatlantic joint-venture markets. However, travelers heading to Iran, Israel, or the United Arab Emirates will not be able to purchase these Basic fares.
