Air Canada Introduces Basic Fare Classes for Premium Economy and Business
Air Canada has introduced two new BASIC fare classes for its Premium Economy and Business cabins. These fares, available for travel to the Caribbean, Latin America, Mexico, South America, and Air Canada's transatlantic Joint Venture markets, offer a more affordable option for passengers.
The Premium Economy Basic fare includes checked baggage, but seat selection must be paid for in advance. Elite members cannot use eUpgrades on these fares. Business Class Basic, on the other hand, comes with Maple Leaf Lounge access and an extra luggage allowance for elite members.
Both BASIC fares allow passengers to change their flights for a fee, but they are non-refundable. Aeroplan members earn 1 mile per dollar spent on these fares, while elite members receive 2-6 miles per CAD depending on their status.
