Air New Zealand's Skynest Now On Sale for Select Flights
Air New Zealand has finally put its Skynest up for sale, but it's only available on select flights between Auckland and New York JFK. The airline will start offering lie-flat beds in economy class from December 24th, 2026.
Priced at £215 or NZ$495, passengers can book four-hour sessions during the flight. The Skynest is a unique feature that sets Air New Zealand apart from other airlines, as it offers a lie-flat bed to economy passengers.
The beds are arranged in two stacks of three in a V-shaped layout and are 2.03 meters long, 64cm across the shoulder, and 41cm at the feet. Each session includes a full-size pillow, fresh sheets, a blanket, a privacy curtain, ambient lighting tuned to sleep cycles, and an amenity kit with an eye mask and earplugs.
Air New Zealand advises that passengers must be able to get in and out of the Skynest unaided, as reaching it will require bending, kneeling, crawling, or climbing. The airline sells two sessions per flight, which are priced the same but have different times.
