Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP on Economy, Inflation Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Polls
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav took aim at the BJP-led government's handling of the economy and inflation, accusing them of presenting fake job data to mislead the public. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Yadav pointed out that the Indian Rupee continues to slide against the US Dollar and runaway inflation is hitting common households hard.
'Those who once questioned where the Dollar was heading should now look back and see where the Rupee stands against the Dollar today,' Yadav said, targeting the Centre's past rhetoric on currency valuation. He added that 'inflation has broken all records' and the unemployment crisis is deepening by the day.
The SP supremo also accused the BJP of using administrative muscle to stifle democratic activities, citing a recent incident in Rae Bareli where a Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha event was disrupted by BJP workers in collusion with local administration and police. Yadav highlighted the security threat faced by party leader Pappu Nishad, saying 'his life was in grave danger' due to lack of protection.
