ANZ Launches European Subsidiary Amid Regulatory Shift
ANZ Europe S.A., a new subsidiary of Australian bank ANZ, has begun operations in Europe. This move reflects the bank's commitment to supporting its customers across the region and ensures compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
The subsidiary received approval from the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) and the European Central Bank (ECB) earlier this year, allowing it to operate as a credit institution and provide investment services.
ANZ Managing Director International Simon Ireland stated that the establishment of ANZ Europe S.A. is an important milestone for ANZ's international business, strengthening its presence in the region and supporting future growth opportunities.
Sarah Berry has been appointed Head of ANZ Europe S.A., bringing her expertise in governance, operating models, and regulatory frameworks to the role.
