ANZ New Zealand has announced that Michael Bullock will return to his previous role as Chief Operating Officer (COO), a position he held from 2015 to 2020. Bullock, who is currently ANZ's Chief Information Officer for New Zealand and the Pacific, will take on the newly established COO role on November 2, after receiving no objection from the Reserve Bank.

Bullock has been with ANZ for 17 years and has held various senior roles within the company. Before his appointment as COO in 2015, he was General Manager of Institutional Operations and Acting Group Executive and Chief Information Officer for ANZ Group.

As part of the leadership team, Bullock will report to new CEO Ben Kelleher, who succeeded Antonia Watson. He will also have a dotted reporting line to ANZ Group COO Stephen White. The bank has announced that it will undertake an internal and external recruitment process for a new Chief Information Officer (CIO) as a result of Bullock's move.
