Arkansas Unemployment Rate Falls to 3.9% in August
Arkansas' unemployment rate has fallen to 3.9% in August, marking a fourth consecutive month of decline, according to labor market data released by the Arkansas Department of Commerce.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a percentage point from July's 4%, while the national unemployment rate held steady at 4.1%. The state added 1,972 employed workers in August and saw its civilian labor force grow by 192 people.
The number of unemployed Arkansans actively seeking work fell by 1,780, contributing to record-high employment levels. Nonfarm payroll jobs increased by 12,200 in August, primarily driven by seasonal hiring ahead of the new school year.
