Asian Stocks Bounce Back as Oil Prices Ease
Asian stocks made a comeback on September 30, 2026, after three consecutive sessions of decline. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose by 0.8%, driven primarily by technology shares following a positive trend in US semiconductor stocks.
The tech sector's gain was led by SoftBank Group Corp., an investor in OpenAI, which increased by 6% after reports emerged that the artificial intelligence startup aimed to raise at least $30 billion in fresh funding at a valuation of $1.4 trillion.
The dollar also showed signs of recovery, poised for its best month since June. This uptrend was observed across various markets as traders anxiously awaited a crucial US inflation reading for clues on the path of interest rates.
