Asian Stocks Rise on Lower Oil Prices and Tech-Led Wall Street Rebound
Asian stocks rose on Friday as lower oil prices eased inflation concerns and a tech-led Wall Street rebound lifted sentiment.
The Nikkei climbed 1.70% to 65,228, while the Hang Seng gained 0.20% to 4,102.51.
The Bank of Japan raised its policy rate to 1.25%, but some analysts described the outcome as relatively dovish due to the two policymakers who dissented.
Oil prices continued their retreat, with Brent falling 1.2% to $103.56 a barrel after Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline was expected to resume operations at about half its capacity within days.
