Asian Stocks Surge as Tech Rally and Lower Oil Prices Boost Sentiment
The Asian stock market experienced a significant boost on Tuesday due to the rally in tech stocks. This rise was attributed to lower oil prices, which lifted sentiment and investor hopes for US-Iran talks.
The Brent crude futures steadied at $100.22 per barrel after dropping over 3% in the previous session, moving below the key $100 level briefly.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose over 1%, while tech-heavy South Korean stocks jumped nearly 2%. Taiwan shares were 1.3% higher, and China's blue-chip stock index rose 0.75%.
The dollar firmed up on rate-hike wagers, with the dollar index reaching 100.4, just shy of a seven-week high.
