AUD/IDR Bounces 1.15%, But Bearish Momentum Persists
The Australian Dollar vs Indonesian Rupiah (AUD/IDR) has seen an intraday upturn, advancing 1.15% as buyers take control. Despite this rebound, the pair remains below its short- and medium-term moving averages, with volatility driving the move higher.
The AUD/IDR is currently trading at IDR 12,613.56, still below its 20-day and 50-day moving averages but above the 200-day average, indicating a bullish long-term alignment. However, bearish momentum dominates as the MACD and ADX show strong sell signals.
The pair is boxed between support at Rp12,484 and resistance at Rp12,602, with a forecast five-session range of Rp12,355 to Rp12,810 and a 70% probability of a downward move. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 43.2, pointing to mild selling pressure.
Analysts had earlier noted that AUD/IDR was expected to consolidate within a defined range, with policy developments and technical signals creating a mixed outlook. The current analysis highlights persistent short- and medium-term downside pressure despite intraday rebound attempts.
