AUD/IDR Slips as Indonesia Eases Foreign Investment Rules
The Australian dollar to Indonesian rupiah (AUD/IDR) exchange rate is currently trading at Rp12,042, down 3.29% for the day. The pair is trading below key moving averages, signaling a bearish trend. Technical indicators like the MACD and ADX suggest further downward momentum, with the RSI deeply oversold at 15.08.
Indonesia has recently introduced regulatory changes to attract foreign investment in the clean energy sector. The new rules allow full foreign ownership of power plants above 1MW and lower capital requirements for foreign-owned companies. These reforms aim to boost cross-border investment flows, which could influence the demand for the Indonesian rupiah and the AUD/IDR dynamics.
Analysts predict that AUD/IDR will consolidate within a range of Rp11,823 to Rp12,260 over the next 2-3 days. The downside scenario is more probable (76%) than a rebound (24%). A bullish reversal would require a break above Rp12,168, while a move below Rp11,823 could trigger further losses.
The current decline in AUD/IDR, coupled with Indonesia's investment reforms, strengthens the bearish outlook. The pair's reaction to cross-border capital flows will be a key factor in the coming sessions.
