AUD Slumps Against LKR Amid Rupee's Strong Five-Session Streak

Instruments

The Australian dollar (AUD) has experienced a marginal decline against the Sri Lankan rupee (LKR), currently trading at LKR233.16.

This downtrend is reflected in the AUD/LKR's position below its short- and medium-term moving averages, while holding above its long-term average.

The strengthening of the Sri Lankan rupee against the US dollar for five consecutive sessions has contributed to this decline, as falling crude prices and probable dollar sales by state-run banks increase foreign currency supply in Sri Lanka.

The AUD/LKR is expected to stay within a narrow range between LKR231.99 and LKR234.33 over the next two to three trading days, with a higher probability of a further move down than an upward rebound.
