AUD Surges Against JPY as Trade Balance Data Boosts Australian Dollar
The Australian Dollar (AUD) continued its upward trend against the Japanese Yen (JPY), ending its seven-day losing streak and trading around 109.80 during Asian hours on Thursday.
This strength can be attributed to the release of Australia's Trade Balance data, which showed a narrower trade surplus in August, down from A$1,351 million in July to A$495 million month-over-month.
Imports climbed 5.8% month-over-month, reversing the 2.4% decline in July, while exports rebounded by 3.7% after a 3.6% drop in the prior month.
