AUD Surges as China's Manufacturing PMI Beats Expectations
The AUD/USD currency pair continued its upward trend for a second consecutive session, trading near 0.7170 during Asian hours on Tuesday.
This gain was largely due to an unexpected boost from China's RatingDog Manufacturing PMI, which rose to 51.5 in August from 50.9 in July, beating market expectations of 50.9.
The strong reading provided a tailwind for the AUD, as shifts in Chinese economic activity can have a direct influence on Australia's currency.
