AUD/USD Hits Crossroads at 0.7000: Will Buyers or Sellers Reassert Control?
The Australian dollar (AUD) is at a critical juncture as it approaches the 0.7000 threshold against the US dollar (USD). According to FXStreet, traders are waiting for a clearer signal to break above this resistance level.
The directional bias remains neutral to bullish above 0.6900, but repeated difficulty clearing 0.7000 leaves the pair exposed to another rejection. A sustained move above 0.7000, supported by firm Australian labour data, stronger expectations of an RBA rate increase, lower US yields, or an improvement in risk appetite could trigger a breakout.
A confirmed break above 0.7000 would suggest that buyers have absorbed the selling pressure surrounding this closely watched threshold. The next important medium-term target would emerge around 0.7200, followed by the 2026 ceiling near 0.7280.
