AUD/USD Slips Despite Australian Consumer Confidence Boost
The Australian consumer confidence index rose significantly in August, increasing from 83.9 in July to 88.9 - a 6.0% rise, the largest single-month increase since November 2025.
This improvement was mainly driven by reduced concerns among mortgage holders regarding further interest rate hikes by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), according to data from Westpac Banking Corporation and the Melbourne Institute.
Despite this positive development, the Australian dollar declined against the US dollar, dropping 0.26% to $0.7084 after the macroeconomic release.
