Aussie Dips to Nine-Week Low on Marginal Inflation Miss
The Australian dollar hit a nine-week low on Wednesday after inflation data came in slightly below forecasts.
The miss was marginal, but it gave speculators an excuse to sell the currency for the fourth straight week, pushing its losses this month to 2.8%.
The Aussie eased 0.3% to $0.6963, with support levels now at $0.6922 and $0.6866.
Data from the consumer price index showed a 0.4% rise in August, under expectations of 0.5%, as drops in clothing and travel offset surging fuel costs.
