Aussie Dollar Steadies Amid Hawkish Turn in US Rate Outlook
The Australian dollar steadied on Monday after two weeks of losses as a hawkish turn in the US rate outlook cooled its recent rally.
Despite being near multi-year highs against the kiwi and euro, the Aussie was little changed at $0.7128, after finishing last week 0.6% lower.
It's now well off a recent four-month peak of $0.7238, but support is around $0.7075.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is expected to hike rates for the fourth time this year next week, with markets pricing in a 4.6% rate.
