Australian Businesses Contribute to Productivity Malaise, Says Reserve Bank Governor
The Reserve Bank of Australia's governor, Michele Bullock, has pointed out that Australian businesses are partly responsible for the country's productivity malaise. In a recent speech at a Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) conference, Bullock noted that over the last decade or so, Australian businesses have become less dynamic.
According to Bullock, this is one of the factors contributing to the country's productivity issues. She emphasized that it's not just Labor's fault, but rather a shared responsibility between business and government. This intervention drew little coverage despite its relevance to the current economic situation in Australia.
