Australian Wool Prices Decline as Demand Drops
The USDA released its weekly market report on September 25, covering data from September 21 to 25. Domestic wool trading saw no confirmed trades during this period.
However, the Australian Wool Market Report revealed a decline in prices. The AWEX EMI stood at $1,845 per kilogram, down by 12 cents, with 27,667 bales offered and an 8.3% percentage of passed-in wool.
Australian wool prices are quoted in US dollars per pound delivered to Charleston, South Carolina. According to the report, 75-85% of the Australian price may be used as an estimated value for clean domestic wool free on board warehouse.
