Australia's Football Regulator Freezes Player Registration Fees Amid Rising Costs
Football Australia has decided not to increase its national player registration fees for the 2027 season, despite rising costs and increased investment across the game.
The governing body will maintain its base national player registration fee at A$42 for senior players aged 19 and over, while youth club players will pay a single A$22 contribution, which combines the existing A$18 NRF and average A$4 service fee.
The National Registration Fee (NRF) is being replaced by the National Football Development Contribution (NFDC), which incorporates the average cost of the existing 1.98% PlayFootball service fee.
This change will improve transparency, according to Football Australia, and prepare for Reserve Bank of Australia reforms banning online card surcharges in the future.
