The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that headline inflation slowed from 4.0 percent in May, while the trimmed mean inflation rate remained steady at 3.6 percent.
Rachael McCririck, head of prices statistics at the Australian Bureau of Statistics, noted that external geopolitical shocks played a significant role in the monthly moderation, with stabilizing tensions in the Middle East contributing to a 10.9 percent drop in automotive fuel prices.
The Reserve Bank's Monetary Policy Board faces a complex landscape when convening next month, with certain sectors remaining stubbornly resistant to monetary intervention.
