B2Bpay Introduces Pay and Earn for Rent Payments
The Reserve Bank of Australia's reforms have changed the way businesses accept card payments, and thousands of renters are affected.
B2Bpay has launched Pay and Earn, a service that allows tenants to pay rent by credit card even if their property manager does not accept cards. This is because some billing platforms may stop accepting card payments rather than absorb the cost associated with them.
The new platform extends B2Bpay's existing business payments approach to consumers, starting with rent before expanding into other household payments.
Jane Grant, Chief of B2Bpay, said that paying by credit card has allowed thousands of people to collect reward points on their rent payments. With the changes taking effect, she noted that some property managers may no longer accept credit cards, so renters who value rewards will need to find another way to make these payments.
