Bank of Canada Accused of Labour Law Violation

NDP Leader Avi Lewis has accused the federal government of breaking its own labour laws. He claims that this is after the head of the Bank of Canada admitted to using replacement workers during an ongoing strike.

In June, security officers at the Bank of Canada went on strike over failed collective agreement talks between the central bank and their union. The strike began after negotiations broke down.

According to Lewis, this use of replacement workers defies federal labour laws.
