Bank of Canada Announces 2027 Interest Rate Decision Dates

The Bank of Canada has released its interest rate announcement schedule for 2027. The central bank maintained its overnight rate at 2.25%, where it has remained for six consecutive decisions.

The publication provides mortgage brokers and clients with a full planning horizon during an extended rate hold environment, according to Sal Guatieri, director and senior economist at BMO Capital Markets in Toronto: 'Today it does look like the Bank of Canada is on hold for the foreseeable future.'

The eight policy rate announcements in 2027 are scheduled for January 27, March 3, April 28, June 2, July 21, September 8, October 27, and December 8. All decisions will be released at 09:45 ET.
