Bank of Canada Unveils New $20 Bank Note Featuring King Charles III

On September 3, 2026, Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem will unveil the design of the new $20 bank note featuring a portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. The event is scheduled to take place at 13:00 (Eastern Time) in the Trillium Ballroom at Rogers Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.

Members of the media are invited to attend an embargo period from 11:30 (ET), where they will have the opportunity to meet with experts and view samples of the note. The Bank has cautioned that photos and/or video recordings taken during this time cannot be published or posted until the official unveiling at approximately 13:20 (ET).
