Bank of England Axes Long-Term Gilt Sales Amid Market Turmoil
The Bank of England is planning to overhaul its debt sales in response to bond market turmoil.
According to the Telegraph, the central bank will stop selling 20- and 30-year gilts under the revised plan.
This move comes after prices of these bonds fell to their lowest since 1998 last week.
The Bank of England skewed sales away from long-dated gilts last year, and Deutsche Bank expects them to be halted entirely as a result.
