Bank of England Expands Presence in Leeds with New Office

The Bank of England is expanding its presence in Leeds with a new office at Capitol House in Bond Court. This move will eventually replace the existing Yorkshire House premises, where the bank currently employs just under 300 staff.

In 2027, the bank aims to grow its workforce in West Yorkshire to at least 500 people.

According to Bank governor Andrew Bailey, the new office is an important milestone in the bank's commitment to Leeds. He emphasized that the exceptional talent and expertise found in the city will benefit the bank.

The move also supports regional growth efforts, as stated by Tracy Brabin, mayor of West Yorkshire. She believes it signals a national belief in the region's economic future.
