Bank of England Expands Presence in Leeds with New Office
The Bank of England is expanding its presence in Leeds with a new office set to open in 2028. The bank has secured a long-term site at Capitol House in Bond Court and will move from its current location at Yorkshire House. This expansion comes as part of the bank's location strategy programme, which also includes refurbishing its historic Threadneedle Street HQ and shutting its nearby Moorgate site.
The new office will help house the bank's growing headcount in Leeds, which is expected to reach 500 by 2027. The bank currently has around 300 staff in Leeds, but this number is set to increase with the expansion.
Bank governor Andrew Bailey said the move was an 'important milestone' and that the bank values the talent and expertise of the people in Leeds and the wider region.
