Bank of England Holds Rates Amid Rising UK Inflation
The Bank of England has maintained its main interest rate at 3.75% despite rising inflation in the UK, which reached a five-month high due to the ongoing impact of the Iran war on fuel prices.
Thursday's decision was widely anticipated by economists, with six members of the Monetary Policy Committee voting to keep rates unchanged and three backing a quarter-point increase to 4%.
The Bank's decision suggests that while it is holding off on further rate hikes for now, it remains prepared to take action if inflation continues to rise.
