Bank of England Holds Rates Amid Warnings of Inflationary Pressures
The Bank of England kept interest rates steady on Thursday, but hinted that it could raise them soon to combat inflationary pressures caused by the Iran war.
Out of nine members of the Monetary Policy Committee, six voted to maintain the current rate while three favored a quarter-point increase to 4%.
The decision was anticipated, and the Bank's move suggests that it is closely monitoring the economic fallout from the conflict.
