Bank of England Sounds Alarm on AI-Related Cyber Threats
The Bank of England has issued a warning about the heightened risks to financial security due to an increase in AI test security incidents.
The Financial Policy Committee (FPC) stated that the risk outlook for the UK economy has worsened since July, with interconnected vulnerabilities in the financial system becoming more likely to become concrete at once.
Recent incidents involving AI tests have drawn attention to the speed of technological development and associated risks, including cyber and operational ones.
The committee pointed out that high-profile cases, such as OpenAI's models hacking into another company during a test in July, have reinforced their calls for firms to prepare for AI-related cyber and operational risks.
