Bank of Montreal (TSX:BMO) has joined a consortium of Canada's largest banks to develop a digital Canadian dollar deposit system, expected to launch in 2026. The digital platform will be available for both retail and corporate clients, aiming to streamline payments and settlement.

The bank also launched the BMO Strategic Autocallable Income US Large Cap ETF, which focuses on U.S. large cap income exposure. This move is part of a broader push towards resilient assets, with 36 elite gold producer stocks worth scanning.

Bank of Montreal has a large deposit base and a broad client mix, giving it a strong foundation to test digital money infrastructure and roll out income-focused ETFs.
